New Competition! - ELES

So the new Slovenian competition is for Elektro Slovenija (ELES), a "state-owned electricity transmission company of Slovenia. It is an only power transmission system operator in Slovenia." [wikipedia].

It's for their new business complex in Baricevo, which is here:

There's a bunch of competition material which I'll upload but in the meantime this is probably the most useful of the briefs:

Failed Athens

This didn't work out so well, at least not for the project we were designing for, so scrapped it a few days before the submission and went camping instead.

Dallas Peaks

We are totally lagging on posting our submission to the Dallas Re:Vision competition that ended a few months ago. Its a good project (haha aren't they all!) and I think we actually managed to solve the task of providing for 100% of the site's energy. It's very hard to do! Covering a building in grass or vegetables does not, surprisingly, fix the earth.

Hot air balloons on the other hand. I mean, global warming->more hot air->more balloons, right?. Im pretty sure that's how it works.

Eilat City Hall

We just finished a city hall project in Israel that we worked on with HQ / Erez Ella and friends. We didn't win, though um coincidentally a local architect who used to be partners with the head judge did. Competitions are the best! (they are not the best).
